A Photographer Photshopped Teeth On To Newborns And It’s Hysterical As it Is Creepy

Is there anything cuter in the world than babies? Some would say that puppies, kitties, otters and assorted other tiny, furry creatures are on par if not even cuter, but we have to say that human babies have the biological edge. They’re so cute they send biological signals into our brain telling us not to eat them when they’re born. That’s pretty darn cute. Although, not all of them are that adorable. Come on, we’re friends. We can be honest with each other.

Have you ever seen a baby when they’re first, first born? They’re all wrinkly and purple like a grape that’s halfway to becoming a raisin. And they scream and cry nonstop and just kind of stare around, unable to control their faculties. They’re basically little busted animatronics that slowly gain sentience. But when they do, that’s when the cuteness kicks in. Although, it doesn’t take much for even the cutest of kids to be absolutely terrifying…

Baby Smiles

The moment a newborn goes from being kind of creepy looking to absolutely adorable is the first time they smile.

Just look at that picture. Doesn’t it just melt your heart? If it doesn’t you should have that checked out, because it might be a serious medical condition.

That toothless, gummy smile is one of the cutest things on Earth. However, what if babies had teeth from the time they were born? What would they look like? Well, that’s a weirdly specific line of questioning, but here you go…

Sink Your Teeth Into This

Great googily moogily! What is this unholy wretch that grins its evil grin here before us?

Imagine having this come out of your womb and smiling back at you. Pretty sure you’d decide then and there that you’re never gonna breastfeed.

Yes, breastfeeding is a bonding experience, but with something that looks like this, you’d want to keep them in the friend zone at the closest. Don’t worry, this obviously isn’t real. It’s a series of Photoshops. Yes, it’s a series.

These little devil baby images are the work of Amy Haehl of Coffee Creek Studio.

What would possess her to do something like this? Actually, the better question might be what possessed this baby to give it such an evil grin.

Imagine seeing a baby laying in a corner. You walk over to see what’s going on, and then they look up at you with this grin. It’s at that moment you know you’ve fallen into a trap and are in mortal danger.

Smiles On Faces

The scariest thing about all of these children with chompers? They’re still actually kind of cute.

We’re feeling mighty conflicted seeing these. We still want to pick them up and hug them… but maybe if we could strap on a Hannibal Lecter muzzle first.

Amy Haehl spoke out recently about why she decided to do this. She said, “I just thought it was so funny, and would be a great way to put a smile on people’s faces — literally.”

Double Trouble

Luckily, this isn’t some sort of summoning ritual for an ancient evil to be brought back to our realm.

She also didn’t take the photos of these children with this project in mind. She had a large catalog of images, and chose the ones she thought would be best for this project.

Also, she revealed that these aren’t even Photoshops at all. Don’t worry, it isn’t black magic. She actually used a filter in FaceApp to get these results.

Sharing Isn't Always Caring

After publishing these images on her Facebook page, they quickly garnered a lot of attention and went viral.

Well, of course they did. When you see something this vile and repulsive and cursed, your first instinct is to naturally share it with friends and loved ones.

Since posting it, the images have racked up more than 24,000 likes and over 42,000 shares. The fact that people share it more than they like it is telling of how unsettling this truly is.

Different

“I think these photos were popular with people because it is so different from the normal way babies look and they’re quite hilarious,” Amy said.

Well… yeah. Baby teeth are supposed to come in a few at a time at most much later on.

But for them to be fully formed like this? Yeah, it’s funny. But it’s that nervous type of laughter that you do involuntarily as a self-defense mechanism because your body has no idea how it’s supposed to react.

Toothless Tykes

After seeing what she had done, Amy said, “I think we all realize why babies aren’t born with a full set of teeth!”

Yeah. Because if your baby looked like this, it’d be hard to care for it without feeling like something terrible is going to happen.

New parents never get a lot of sleep because the baby keeps them up with its constant demands. But parents of this baby? They’d never sleep because they wouldn’t want to let their guard down.

We Politely Disagree

Amy said that after a while, some of the babies stuck out as looking goofy, but some (like this one) didn’t raise any red flags.

“I loved having a variety of images in the album … some that were obviously awkward but then some that looked so natural you almost wouldn’t notice what is off about the photo!”

Um… yeah, we think you may have been behind the screen for too long and it’s messing with your eyeballs. The weirdness here is glaringly obvious. We mean… that headband? How out of place.

Laughter

Amy is a former nurse who subscribes to the philosophy of laughter being the best medicine. And she’s trying to spread those giggles.

She said, “I love making people laugh and try to encourage that in any way I can.”

That’s why she shared the album instead of keeping it as a private collection. Though, to be fair, if this was a hidden folder on her computer and you found it, you’d be more creeped out than if she showed it on Facebook.

The Parents

“Overall the parents of the babies in the album have been very understanding,” Amy says.

That’s a relief. Because could you imagine booking a photo shoot for your sweet, adorable, innocent little angel and then later on seeing them made to look like this?

Yeah, we’d probably be sending messages to Yelp, the Better Business Bureau, and an exorcist with a background in dentistry. With something that looks like this, you really can’t be too careful in taking precautions.

Going Viral

The photographer says that neither she nor the parents of the babies “anticipated them going viral.

But they have all been very understanding and I’ve kept communication lines open with them to keep them informed throughout this whole thing.”

Well, now there’s another relief. Luckily, everyone knows that these are doctored images and their actual babies don’t look like this, so they don’t have to worry about villagers showing up with pitchforks and torches to try and rid the town of the monster.

More In The Future?

While thousands online found this to be quite humorous, no one got more laughs out of the project than Amy herself.

On her Facebook post, the photographer wrote that she “could have gone back and done this to every single baby that has ever come in my studio. Can’t. Stop. Laughing.”

Is that a promise or a threat? Heck, a threat is just a promise no one wants you to keep. Weirdly enough, we kind of want to see more.

More

Okay, never mind. That was maybe the quickest turnaround on being taught to be careful what you wish for.

Luckily, Amy and the parents of these infants are in agreement while this is funny (in a terrifying way), that the real life versions of these babies are much better.

“Overall we all had a good laugh but still agree their babies are perfectly beautiful without teeth!” she said. Yes. Please, no toothed babies in our day to day reality, please.

We're Waiting For You

“Hello, my tall friend. Would you like to play a rousing game of peek-a-boo? I do so ever love that silly activity.

Okay, no just cover your eyes with your hands, and you will disappear from this realm.”

[Person places their hands over their eyes. When they remove them, the baby is gone, as well as the house and everything in it. It is also suddenly night, and a warm wind blows from the sky straight down. Wherever this place is, there is no way out.]

Bundle Of Oy

“Hey, Sarge! We got another baby dropped off at the doorstep in a basket. That’s the third one this week.”

“Does this one also have a full set of teeth? Quit stalling and just answer my darn question.”

“Um, y-yes, sir. It does. What are we going to do?”

“Well, considering how these things start fires, it’s better to have them here at the fire station than anywhere else. Just be on guard, gentlemen. This is going to be a long night.”

That's More Like It

Well, if you enjoyed that creepy yet hilarious but also totally creepy series of images, check out Amy Haehl at Coffee Creek Studio.

In the meantime, we’re going to decompress by staring at this photo of a baby with proper baby teeth.

Ah, that’s much better, isn’t it. There’s something so reassuring about looking at a baby that’s not able to devour an entire porterhouse steak. In the end, it turns out that’s specifically what makes them so cute.
