When a teen finished high school and goes to college, it usually a pretty drastic change. For most students, it means leaving home and living on your own for the first time. But there can be some other unexpected changes as well.
Maddie shared the text from her mom, indicating that her room's been taken over. It's basically what most college students fear will happen to their old room when they move out. And it really struck a chord on Twitter.
On the bright side for Maddie, her room still exists as a place one can sleep. So that's better than the alternative of having your room become a spot for all the random stuff that no longer fits in the basement.
On the other end of spare room spectrum is this person's mom. Looks like someone is really hoping that her oldest son will eventually move back home. But after three years, it's probably time to give that up.
Perhaps having your room turned into the dog's room is better than having no room at all. Having your parents move when you leave might be even worse. Especially if they don't let you know their new address.
Now when Maddie visits from school, she may have to sleep on the floor while Nina gets in the bed. And hopefully Nina will remember to walk Maddie when she needs it. And if she's really good, she might even get some table scraps.
The one piece of the puzzle we don't have is, what did the room look like before? We're not sure, but in an interview with Buzzfeed, Maddie confirmed that the furniture is new. Her mother Rose bought a brand new bed and chair specifically for Nina.
Throughout the whole ordeal, Nina seems completely innocent in the big room changeover. But what if it was actually Nina's plan all along? Maybe she wanted the room the whole time, and convinced Rose to do her bidding.
