A Japanese man named Akihara-san finally solved a ring puzzle that puzzled him for 10 years. 10 Years! That is about 9 years, 51 weeks and 6 days longer than anyone else would have given to that puzzle.
Most people would have messed around with it for a little bit. Some would have thrown it across the room in a fit of rage. Others would have gladly thrown in the towel and went to get a beer to celebrate not giving AF.
I mean, it’s a puzzle. With all the drama going on in this country in the last 10 years, this guy is still concerned about solving a puzzle? What about solving global warming? How about taking a look at stricter gun laws? Or how to turn off Facebook Live? He’d rather focus on a puzzle and he is probably smarter for it.
The host gave the puzzle a whirl and was also not able to figure it out. He then went to seek the help of a physicist. The physicist just over-complicated it with chalk and diagrams and in the end, was no help at all
As a last ditch effort, they reached out to the Japan Puzzle Ring Association and asked for help. Yes, the Japan Puzzle Ring Association is a real thing. The man from the company was able to solve it in two minutes.
The two men were shocked that it only took the man a few minutes to complete the puzzle. 10 years he tried to find the answer to that pesky puzzle. And there it was. The answer was solved right before his eyes.
So what did we learn? How about never give up? Or don’t be afraid to ask for help? Or better yet, don’t buy puzzles that will take 10 years to solve? Ain't nobody got time for that!
