One day, Noah got a text from a number he did not recognize. It was from a woman named Helen, with a scalding message for someone named Christi and her daughter, Brittney. It was clearly a wrong number.
Noah found the wrong number text to be bizarrely delightful, and understandable so. With drama that involves someone potentially getting banned fro a cul-de-sac BBQ, it's about as juicy of a text as you can get. So, naturally, he tweeted it.
However, Noah wouldn't budge when it came to posting Helen's number. He was probably taking the high road, although he may have also feared facing Helen's terrifying wrath. That fear would be perfectly reasonable.
However, even more people were begging Noah to text Helen back. That way, he could mess with her for sending a wrong number text. Or, at the very least, he could find out what Brittney did that was so terrible.
In an interview with Buzzfeed, Noah revealed that he had met some friends at a football game and gave out his phone number. Then another friend got his number from those friends and decided to pull the Helen prank on Noah. But when he tweeted it, he thought it was completely real.
So the texts may have been fake, but they still managed to captivate not only Noah, but a whole lot of people on Twitter. We're not sure who sent Noah the texts, but perhaps Hollywood should give them a call. This person definitely knows how to set up a story.
