Skyler posted the photos on Twitter and offered an explanation. He had purchased a snorkel, but not for the purpose of being active while underwater. It was strictly so he could nap in the pool face-down.
Skyler explained the story further when interviewed by Buzzfeed. She said that she was swimming with friends when her father came by and said, "All right, it's nap time." Then he fell asleep while using his snorkel.
Skyler said that, for a living, Dan flips houses and works as a contractor. "He's not like a regular dad," she said. She added that, when it comes to the whole family "We kind of do things out the box."
However, Dan's pool nap invention is not without potential problems. For one thing, once you start napping, you don't know how long you'll be in the pool. If you're not prepared with sunscreen, there could be a problem.
Not knowing how long your nap will last also presents a second problem. And that's if you leave yourself in the water for too long, your skin could look like this. And no amount of sunscreen can keep it from happening.
In fact, this Twitter user said he did the same napping method before, and his grandmother thought he was dead. So she kicked him in the head. Which must have hurt physically, but at least he knows his grandmother would prefer to keep him alive.
