Los Angeles-based comedian Jeff Wysaski runs the website Obvious Plant, where he posts pictures of fake posters and signs he puts up around town (or around the world). At the L.A. Zoo, he decided to prank visitors by putting up these brand new animal facts. Here are some of our favorites.
Another fact: People think George Washington had wooden teeth, but that's not completely true. Instead, only seven of the nine koalas that made up George had wooden teeth. And while this fact may not be true, it still blows the mind.
That's right, the Southern Crested Screamer has a lot in common with Haley Joel Osment in The Sixth Sense. But is there an animal at the zoo that takes after his character in Pay It Forward? Because that animal would truly be the greatest hero of all.
But whatever you do, don't leave them a bowl of stew. Sure, it seems like a bowl of soup, only thicker, but they really are two different things. However, for some reason, the gibbons also enjoy bathing in a bowl of cereal and milk.
And unfortunately, in 100 years, they will enter the Great Penguin Depression. That's when the Penguin Stock Market will crash, and the wealthy penguins will lose all the fish they've saved up. It will be a difficult time, but it will also be entertaining when it's narrated by Morgan Freeman.
Meerkats have a way of convincing you to do whatever they want. And they know the best way to talk you into something is by telling you to not worry about what might happen. That's why they're always singing Hakuna Matata.
Instead of putting up animal facts, Obvious Plant put up signs for upcoming zoo events on the schedule. Or they were on the schedule, but have now been removed. At least that's what this sign says, and signs never lie.
Otters on skateboards would have been an amazing event. It sounds like the X-Games, except way more adorable. But they had to cancel for safety reason, because the otters are rebels and refused to wear tiny helmets.
On the one hand, who doesn't like things that are free? On the other hand...is a scorpion grasping onto your hand and stinging you. And worst of all, these scorpions probably can't even play Rock You Like A Hurricane.
