The Notebook was on the of the greatest love stories of all time. Unfortunately Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams were not feeling the love. Rumor has it that Ryan Gosling even tried to get McAdams fired. There was a whole lot of screaming and yelling on set and Gosling refused to read with her at times. Yet, despite their rocky history, the two started dating in real life. When asked about the breakup he said, "The only thing I remember is we both went down swingin' and we called it a draw."
I don't know how these two did those steamy sex scenes in 50 Shades Of Grey when they didn't get along in real life. That takes some true acting skills. During filming, there were pictures of them released showing that they were clearly annoyed by each other's presence. When Dakota Johnson was asked about how she felt about her co-star Jamie Dornan and the rumors that suggest that they don't get along she said, "We hate each other and we’re having an affair, so everybody’s right. How about that?”
Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp starred in the romantic spy thriller The Tourist together. During the filming process, they were rumored to have an intense dislike for each other. Jolie was not fond of his late-night partying and Depp thought that Jolie was full of herself. Perhaps this affected their performance because in Roger Ebert's review of the movie he wrote, "Depp plays his Wisconsin math teacher as a man waiting for the school bell to ring so he can go bowling."
Can't Hardly Wait is centered around the romance between Preston Meyers' (Ethan Embry) love for Amanda Beckett (Jennifer Love Hewitt) however, the audience never quite felt the spark. Maybe that was because the two of them didn't feel it in real life either? And how could they when Embry admits that he was high the entire time. "So stoned" in fact, he doesn't even remember filming most of the movie. Jennifer Love once gave him 50 breath mints before filming one of their scenes together. What a nightmare.
Claire Danes was only 16 years old when she starred as Juliet. Leonardo DiCaprio was 22.... going on 12. That is, according to rumors that Claire Danes found Leo to be "irritatingly immature." Romeo, Oh Romeo... please stop acting like a child!
Apparently, Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze were not too fond of each other. In fact, Swayze said his co-star was irritating and extremely self-conscious. Well, damn. I'm sure with an attitude like that he wasn't making it any better! I didn't mean to ruin this classic movie for anyone, but it looks like Patrick Swayze really did want to put Baby in the corner.
This James Bond does not have too many kind words for actress Teri Hatcher. The two starred together in Tomorrow Never Dies and apparently Pierce Brosnan could not stand Hatcher because she was always late to set. What he didn't know was that Hatcher was pregnant and had terrible morning sickness and that is why she was late. Give a girl a break!
Marilyn Monroe was an icon, but apparently Sir Laurence Oliver was not impressed. When they filmed the movie The Princess and the Showgirl, he thought that the actress was chatty and didn't like that she was often late to set. Hey Sir Laurence Oliver, sometimes it takes a while for a lady to look that good!
Here Is some more Marilyn Monroe Drama for you. Tony Curtis saw nothing hot about Monroe when they starred in Some Like it Hot together. Curtis despised her so much that their was a rumor that he said that kissing her was like kissing "Hitler." Damn, now that is harsh. He later denied that he said that, but that she was very difficult to work with.
The animosity between Harrison Ford and Sean Young was well known when they shot Blade Runner. They hated each other so much that the crew even called their love scene the "hate scene." Damn, that is pretty bad.
Julia Roberts and Nick Nolte had a whole lot of trouble dealing one another on set of the movie I Love Trouble. The two even had to film some scenes separately because it was so bad. Roberts later said in an interview that he had a bad temper and that he was "totally disgusting."
Sharon Stone and Billy Baldwin starred in the movie Silver together and they couldn't have been less interested in one another. There were some very heated love scenes in the movie and Stone openly called Baldwin "asexual." Apparently she tortured him during filming and she even bit his tongue during a kiss on set and he wasn't able to speak for a week.
Talk about a power couple! Sophia Loren and Marlon Brando starred in The Countess From Hong Kong together and the two didn't quite hit it off. Loren didn't like how Brando groped her and she wasn't afraid to let him know it. Brando was known to be difficult and for his temper so I'm sure it didn't go over well.
