Just imagine that you are in a public place. Think a football game, a concert or out shopping and suddenly you have to pee. Or men, maybe you have to do #2. You have one option and one option only to relieve yourself. You must use a public restroom.
You go in and inspect each stall. You find the cleanest looking toilet there and you can’t help but think about all the butts that have rested there before yours. Butt after butt after butt…. SO many butts!
You go with cover because you think that putting toilet paper down to cover the toilet seat sounds like the perfect barrier to protect yourself from all the nasty bacteria that the big bad toilet seat cover may contain. Wrong answer!
The toilet paper that is next to the toilet seat. So, you may think that by covering the toilet seat cover you are safe. But the real nasty germs in your bathroom are actually on the toilet paper. So if you picked "cover," you were dead wrong!
While the toilet seats are designed to prevent bacteria from latching on, the rest of the bathroom isn’t. When you flush, those germs will find itself on walls, door handles and duh duh duh… the toilet paper.
The more times that you touch the toilet paper, the more likely it is that you are spreading those poop germs. Think about it: you touch the toilet paper, then your face, and then … ugh I want to throw up just thinking about it.
The best thing you can do to avoid germs is to wash your hands properly. Need a lesson? Yea, you may think that you know how to wash your hands properly because you are an adult but are you washing them for 20 seconds? Are you using hot water? Are you washing between your fingers and under your nails? I didn’t think so!
While the electric hand dryer is better for the environment, all it is doing is blowing around more germs. If you really want to be sanitary, use paper towels. Also don’t touch the doors or any handles on your way out, or you may as well not wash your hands at all.
