Believe it or not, that sexy rebel that we know as Danny Zuko was only supposed to be 16 or 17 years old in Grease. When John Travolta played Danny he was 24-years-old. Looking back, that whole cast was way older than their characters.
Rachel McAdams was 25 years old when she played Regina George, who was meant to be 10 years younger. Amy Poehler who played her ridiculous "cool mom" is only 7 years older than McAdams. That doesn't make sense now does it?
Game of Thrones first premiered in 2011. Emilia Clarke was 24 years old at the time, playing 13-year-old Daenerys Targaryen. It’s shocking when you think about the events that happened that season and her character was only meant to be 13 years old!

In 2002, Leonardo DiCaprio played Frank Abagnale in Catch Me If You Can. He has such a baby face that he got away with playing a 16-year-old when he was 28 years old at the time. Frank Abagnale was known to act much older than his age, and Leo is known to act much younger than his, so it all worked out perfectly.

In the first installment of The Hunger Games, Katniss is only 16 years old. I know, right? She is such a badass at such a young age. Lawrence was 24 years old when she starred in the first movie. Young, yes. But not quite 16.
Gabrielle Carteris played Andrea Zuckerman in 90210. Her character was well beyond her years. She was smart and studious and a total nerd. Gabrielle was 29 years old in 1990 when she booked the role. Her character was meant to be 16.

Holly is meant to be only 18 years old in the movie Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Audrey Hepburn however, was 32 when she played the role. When she booked Holly, she already had multiple movie roles under her belt, including her role in Roman Holiday where she won an Oscar for her performance.
14. Severus Snape/Alan Rickman In ‘Harry Potter And The Sorcerer’s Stone’
Alan Rickman, may he rest in peace, was 55 years old in the first Harry Potter movie. It was 2001 Professor Snape was only supposed to be 31 years old. He was so incredible in that role, no one even noticed.
