Let’s face it; when you’re 80 years old, you’re not going to look like an Instagram model, regardless of whether you have tattoos or not. Tattoos aren’t going to make your wrinkly skin look any less attractive, but will you really care what you look like at that age...?
Bonus: You’ll be the coolest cat in the nursing home.
This is a fair question up to a point. A good guideline to follow is, if a person is visibly covered in tattoos, then it’s a good bet that they themselves don’t even know how many tattoos they have and they probably hear that question on a daily basis...and don't want to anymore.
Think of it this way: It's the same scenario to a very tall person who's asked every day, "Do you play basketball?" Just don't do it, okay?
5. 'Aren't You Worried You're Going To Regret That?'
We’ll let you in on a little secret: it’s true that no one can ever fully guarantee that they’ll like their tattoo for the rest of their life, and that’s just the reality of it. But that’s the chance we’re willing to take, and when it comes down to it, it’s really no one else’s business!
No one asks expecting parents if they're worried they're going to regret that thing...I mean, baby, they'll be stuck with for 18 years.
This one's got to take the cake for the number one most annoying question of all time for any tattooed person.
Anyone who has at least one tattoo has likely heard this question at least 20 times in the last month. Everyone is different: some choose to get tattoos with meanings attached while many others just get them because they’re pretty!
Just, please, for the love of God...stop asking us that!
Like most topics, some people will be okay with answering this question, while many others won't be, so it’s probably just better not to ask.
Again, it’s generally not very polite to ask someone a detailed question about their finances. If you wouldn't ask your rich neighbor how much money they spent on that yacht, then you probably shouldn't ask a stranger on the street how much money their tattoos cost them!
8. 'You'll Never Find A Husband If You Get A Tattoo!'
Here’s the thing about this one: it might seem like a reasonable question if you yourself are interested in getting a tattoo, but the fact of the matter is that every single person has a different threshold for pain, so one person’s answer won’t necessarily be helpful to you.
But when it comes down to it, a tattoo involves tiny needles being dragged across your skin over and over, so yes, it’s going to hurt. Duh.
Rule of thumb: it’s not very polite to touch a stranger, whether or not they have tattoos. Think of it this way: pregnant women don’t like to have random people touch their bellies, so why would a person with tattoos want that treatment?
And some of us just don't want our personal bubbles popped!
13. 'You Chose To Get Tattoos, So It's Your Fault If You Don't Like People Commenting On Them!'
Well, luckily many different career paths are becoming more accepting of people with body modifications including visible tattoos, especially those who live in big cities. And that's only going to improve with time.
Having an arm full of tattoos is no longer the kiss of death it once was when it comes to jobs!
